You have an incorrect buy-in or return after one of your securities has split?
Then you've come to the right place.

getquin automatically carries out splits in the database and thereby automatically adjusts your average purchase price and the number of shares.

This can look like this:

If you have an automatic connection, however, 3 scenarios may occur:

  1. Our system performs the split before your broker.
In this case, the next update may check how many shares are available with your broker. As the broker has not yet carried out a split, a sale is generated for the difference. As soon as the broker has carried out the split, we generate a buy again to adjust the quantities

    The solution:
In this case, only the incorrect sale and purchase need to be deleted and the data will match again.

  2. The broker carries out the split before our system.

In this case, the broker carries out the split before our system and shows more shares than we have. For this reason, a purchase is first generated to balance the shares. Our system then creates the split and then has more shares than the broker. This generates another sale to balance the shares.

    The solution:
In this case, you only need to delete the incorrect purchase and sale once.

  3. Your broker carries out the split directly on the split date before our system.
In this case, the new number of shares is sent to us as a purchase on the split date.
As a result, you have more shares in the system on the split date that are split and therefore more shares than at the broker. The broker then sends us a different number of shares and we create an adjustment entry.

    The solution:
In this case, you only need to delete the "purchase", which is the entry of the split shares, and the correction entry.
The data will then match again.
