You have received a dividend and don't know how to record it correctly at getquin? Rescue is near and it is extremely easy.

For most stocks and ETF, getquin has the dividends incl. ex-date automatically in the database.

This means:

As soon as a dividend is confirmed and our data provider sends it to us, it will automatically be shown to you in the portfolio. If the dividend is in the future, it will be shown as "announced dividend" and if it is a paid dividend, it will just be called "dividend".

Since we do not query the tax affiliation of our users, we automatically create all dividend transactions in gross. That is, as the companies pay them out, without deducting any taxes or fees.

You want to add taxes?

In the browser:

1. go to your portfolio

2. Now scroll to the transaction list

3. When you have found the right transaction, you will find the button "Edit" next to it.

4. if you use this button, you will get to the transaction menu

5. in the line "Taxes" you can now enter the paid taxes

6. after entering only click on "Save" and you're done.

In the app:

1. go to your portfolio

2. Now scroll to the transaction list

3. When you find the right transaction, swipe it to the left.

4. now you are in the transaction menu

5. under "advanced transaction entry" you will find the line "taxes

6.After entering, just click on "Save" and you're done.

Hint:

Taxes are not directly included in the total dividend, but only in the total performance. For this reason, the overview will show the gross dividend even after the taxes have been entered.

FAQ:

  1. I am shown dividends in a period when I did not own the stock.

Please go to the transaction list once and check your purchase transaction(s).
The dividends are transmitted based on the purchase date.
So as long as you had the stock in your portfolio on the ex date, the dividend transaction will be generated automatically.

  2. I have too much/too little dividend in the transaction.
Please go to the transaction list once and check your purchase transaction(s). Dividends are transmitted based on the date of purchase.
If you had the stock in your portfolio on the ex-date, the dividend transaction will be generated automatically with the corresponding number of shares.
If you have received too much/too little dividend, the number of shares on the ex-day is probably not correct.

  3. There was a special dividend which is not visible in my portfolio.

In this case, please send us the information about the special dividend, such as a press release from the distributing company, and our colleagues will check the matter with our database and add the dividend if necessary.
